Adventure Time may have released its finale eight years ago, but the journey of Finn the Human and Jake the Dog is never-ending. Under the decorated comic publisher Oni Press, the two best friends and their many pals in the Land of Ooo have gotten to take part in more stories than the Cartoon Network franchise could explore, from their first Halloween special to a Pride Month special centered on Princess Bubblegum and Marceline. In 2025, they also started a new Adventure Time comics series, picking up the torch from where BOOM! Studios left off. For their latest entry into the whimsical animated series, though, they’re going back in time to celebrate 15 years of history on the page.
Today, Oni Press officially launched the Kickstarter campaign for the Adventure Time Deluxe Comics Library, a new collection that consolidates over 100 issues from the Land of Ooo, starting at the very beginning of the BOOM! Studios run in 2012. It consists of a box set with six total hardcover volumes covering all of that, the 2025 run, and much more to be revealed as the books near and begin rolling out. These new deluxe library editions will tell each story in chronological order and be accompanied by all manner of surprise limited-edition goodies, ranging from a silkscreen poster to a metal Jake bookmark, reissues of classic comics, special sketch covers courtesy of Nick Winn(Bloody Mary), Caroline Cash (Nancy), and Brenda Hickey (My Little Pony), and more. To commemorate the launch, Collider can exclusively share a sneak peek that goes back to the very beginning with 2012’s Adventure Time #1.
The first issue of the Cartoon Network classic’s comic adventures was penned by star writer Ryan North, who has his fingerprints on all manner of Eisner-winning series, including Jughead and Danger and Other Unknown Risks, though he is best known as the writer behind Marvel’s The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb of Midas fame, meanwhile, handled the artwork, which hews close to the show’s whimsical style. Across four preview pages, they offer a reintroduction of sorts to the Land of Ooo and the 110% pal rating-owning friends Jake and Finn as they use Jake’s stretchy powers to pull a video camera across the world and capture what their friends are up to, from PB riding through the sky to Marceline strumming on her guitar and Ice King preparing to attack. The most stunning artwork is saved for the both humorous and high-stakes arrival of The Lich, who uses a snail to crawl out of the Bag of Holding and begin his hunt for Finn and Jake, using his former prison to unleash muck over the land.

‘Adventure Time’
Oni Press is catering to collectors with its Adventure Time library, as each of the six volumes in the Kickstarter comes in “totally mathematical unique slipcase covers” that will never be available elsewhere. The key #1 issues from the series’ comic history, including North, Paroline, and Lamb’s issue, Adventure Time Comics #1 by Art Baltazar, Katie Cook, Tony Millionaire, and Kat Leyh from 2016, Adventure Time #1 by Winn from 2025, and Fionna & Cake Card Wars #1 by Jen Wang and Britt Wilson from 2015, will see new printings as part of a facsimile set. Volumes will be available for purchase either individually or collectively, but those willing to go a bit further to commemorate the fantasy favorite series can also pick up one of two limited edition sets.
First is The Land of Ooo set, packing the six volumes and their collectible slipcases in a themed travel box alongside the aforementioned Jake metal bookmark, the #1 reprints, stickers, and a Rainbow Foil edition of Caroline Cash‘s Adventure Time: The Bubbline College Special. As a bonus, Oni Press is throwing in five variant and incentive covers from its Adventure Time run, including some of the rarest issues out there. On the flip side, the BMO Deluxe Set swaps out the box for a special version themed after everyone’s favorite living video game console and comes with all the same benefits as the Ooo collection. However, the bacon on top of this proverbial stack of pancakes is that backers at this level will also receive an original art piece from one of the many artists from the Adventure Time comic universe, like Wick, Cash, Hickey, or others.
In an official statement, Oni Press’ Director of Business Development Sam Kusek hailed the library campaign launch as an immortalization of an entire generation of Adventure Time comics, with something for just about any fan and unique pieces for the most aggressive collectors.
“The algebraic Adventure Time Deluxe Comics Library slipcase editions are entirely Kickstarter exclusive and will never be made available in mass quantities anywhere else. This campaign is a celebration of the comic adventures of Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline… the list goes on and on—and also includes a limited edition Land of Ooo boxset and an even more limited edition BMO boxset! No matter who your favorite Adventure Time character is, there’s something for everyone.”
